Bikes, Forts, and Daddy

Being a mother is one of the highest salaried jobs in my field since the payment is pure love.~ Mildred B. Vermont
Life has seemed busy at home since both the kids get to spend every waking moment with me.  But I do love it.  As much as I'm dying for some alone time by the end of the day, sometimes I want to go in and wake them up just so they can be with us.  I know - pitiful!

Our days have been spent chalking up the driveway, riding on their new bikes, running through their lizard sprinkler, and building forts in the living room.  Overall, it has been an easy, laid back summer so far - but that's the way (uh huh, uh huh) I like it (uh huh, uh huh!)

Look at our strawberry plants grow!
These summer berries are much sweeter than the first few we ate.
 Her cute, little french braid.
 Our lazy mornings.
 They love their forts.

I love the lighting here.  Her pretty little face.
 My handsome and growing son.

I want to thank my wonderful husband for being a great father to our children.  I see the way he loves on them, leads them, prays with them, plays with them, works so hard to provide for them, and I am truly thankful for the example that he sets.
I pray that my son will grow up to be a man of God like his daddy, and that my daughter will grow up to marry a man of God like her daddy.
He is one of the greatest blessings in my life!
Happy Father's Day, baby!

  1. I feel same way. As exhausting as parenting can be, we just can't seem to get enough of them. I'm enjoying each precious moment knowing that one day I'll remember and cherish these times.
