Grillin'

Happy first day of May!  I can't believe it's May already.  Summer is fast approaching, and I couldn't be any more excited. 

Summer means longer days, later mornings, more adventures, lots of ice cream, and even more grilling.

We have been grill-happy ever since bringing our new baby home.  I love it because there's less clean up afterwards, you don't stink up the house, it's a lot healthier, and most of all - my husband does all the cooking!

You saw the squid that we chargrilled this past weekend.  It was so de-lish and super simple to make.  We were nervous because we've never grilled squid before, but it turned out to be the best squid we have ever had.  Super fresh and tasty, and not chewy or rubbery at all. 

Grilling has been great family time.  There's just something about cooking over an open fire that makes a family want to come together.  Nathaniel gets involved with prepping, as you see below.  I marinade and season everything, and KB does the actual grilling.  And then we all sit down together and enjoy it all. 

 


Here's to long, hot summer days and cooking outside!  Can't wait!
